Event Photo Booth: Channing Frye & Danger Ehren

Serra was pleased to be invited to set up shop by doing a photo booth at a fundraising event / Halloween party this past weekend to support the efforts of The Frye Family Foundation, founded by professional basketball star Channing Frye and his wife to provide life-changing opportunities to underprivileged children and children with disabilities.

Former MTV Jackass Danger Ehren was in on the giving as well on Saturday, dressed as an “Occupy Portland” demonstrator.  Channing Frye, dressed as a 7′+ gladiator, happily posed for photos with guests in all manner of wild attire.

Our favorites of the night?  Serra and Chad, along with all the party-goers, were entertained for most of the night by the Faux Blue Man Group.  These guys were hilarious, and had rehearsed a surprising number of moves ahead of time such as creating jump ropes and hop scotch out of their blue glow sticks on the dance floor.

Another impressive costume was JuDee Svaren who dressed up as her son, football player Justin Svaren, who was also in attendance!  Love this photograph of the two of them together.  This costume idea is especially hilarious because, as you may have guessed, she has some obvious physical differences from him to begin with!  Hearing her voice come out of that costume for the first time was priceless.

It's always fun to dress up as someone who is also at the party!

We hope Bridge Town Photography will get to represent at more local events and parties in the future! Call us up to reserve your date now, before it’s too late!

Tigard School District Homecoming Photos

Tualatin High students play with our photo booth at the 2011 Homecoming dance

Tualatin High students play with our photo booth at the 2011 Homecoming dance

This past Saturday Darren and Serra each took a new crew on their maiden voyage accomplishing for the first time in history two homecoming dances in one evening!  It was exciting, chaotic, and overall a great success.  There were a few technical snags along the way but the crews figured it all out and in the end the students had a fabulous time dancing the night away and capturing a moment in time to remember it by.

If you’ve been following our blog, you know that we’ve been experimenting with photo booth technology.  We did our first attempt at a high school earlier this month and felt pretty good about going double time this past weekend.  The students had fun with the photo booth, and Tualatin students benefited from our cutting edge experimentation with on-site instant print-outs.

I loved helping them hone their creativity and silliness simultaneously.  This couple, for example, came up with this fun idea where the girl keeps adding accessories while they guy is oblivious.  I laughed out loud when she put on the orange glasses at the end.  These kids are really great, and I’m looking forward to watching them grow over the coming years.

Tigard & Tualatin, Pre-Order Now Available!

Pre-Order Information Card for Homecoming Dance

We are constantly innovating, trying to bring a better product and a better experience to the students we work with, and to their parents and teachers.  This week we’re offering online pre-ordering for students participating in Tigard and Tualatin High Homecoming Dances.

We hope this service will alleviate stress with all the other things going on to prepare for these big events.  The other big benefit of pre-ordering your portraits is that there’s no need to send cash to the dance with students.  And we all know that when students order pictures they aren’t always thinking of the big picture, so this way parents can make sure the package includes enough photos for them as well!

The pre-order window for these two dances ends on Thursday, October 20th at 11:59PM. If you haven’t already, please visit our online order form where you’ll be able to place your package order and pay through Paypal.  That’s one thing checked off the list!  Now you can focus on getting everyone ready so they look fabulous for the dance.

Taft High School Homecoming!

We broke in our homecoming dance season with Taft High School in Lincoln City, Oregon.  We’ve heard from many schools that school dance photography is boring and kids are not interested anymore, but that certainly isn’t the case at the dances we photograph!  The students were so great, they were all dressed to the nines and so excited about their pictures.

Since this was a small school, Serra went solo and we only set up one backdrop but that station was hopping all night long as kids came back for second and third poses.  We also lucked out with the amazing school staff and chaperones who made the dance a blast and helped with all the final touches.

Starla, our legendary recruit for the night, was an absolute genius with technology and did an amazing job helping the students select the best pose from their session.  We are so excited to have built this relationship with Tafts High School and look forward to coming back in the winter for the next dance!

Free Photo Booth At Your 2011-2012 High School Event

Homecoming planning season is in full swing and as we’ve met with dozens of ASB dance committees and advisors across our fair land, we’ve heard you loud and clear…

What have we heard, you might ask? Fewer and fewer students are standing in line for the standard photo packages of yesteryear. Today’s students are bored by traditional school dance portraits and they want something new and fun.

Luckily for you, we have the solution to your dance portrait woes. Starting this year we’re offering our photo booth services (a $595 value) free with all premier event portrait contracts. Students have been lighting up when they hear about our photo booth offerings, so we decided why not include it with all purchases over $30. This product grouping will engage more students at your dances and make getting pictures taken fun again.

Photos will work like they always have… students will sign up for a photo package, pay for it, get a gorgeous premier portrait taken by our professional photographers, select their final print from our live viewing station, and then if they purchased a package worth $30 or more they get to go into the photo booth for free and receive an instant photo booth print to take home with them that night!

There is no added cost to your school or your students, only added value and added pictures you get to take home. So what are you waiting for? Call us today to make sure we don’t sign someone else up on the night of your Homecoming dance!

Back To School Portland: We’re Your New Dance Photographers!

What a stunning late summer we’ve had here in Portland.  It’s so beautiful outside that for many Portland students and staff it’s difficult to even think about going back to school!  Nonetheless, today is the first day back for most freshman.  As the fall sports kick into gear, bands tune up, math whizzes dust off their TI-83s and students governments convene, we are cleaning off our lenses and filling up our schedule for homecoming dances.

We are meeting with activity directors and and ASB dance committees to lock down dates and prepare for homecoming which is just around the corner.  We really enjoy getting to know people in our community, and we feel it’s this level of customer service sets us apart from the masses.  We are excited to put faces with names and get to know this year’s movers and shakers.

If you are an activity director who received our marketing packet in August, give us a call to schedule a meet & greet.  We’ll buy the coffee.

Senior Pictures Cancelled Due To Online Bullying

A Pennsylvania photographer made the news when she cancelled a hand full of senior portrait photo sessions after discovering rude facebook comments her ex-clients made about a classmate.

Read the Huffington Post Article and Jen McKen’s clarifying blog post for yourself.  Then take our poll to let us know what you think.

What encounters have you had with bullying?  Is it a big problem at your school?  Do you think it’s just a normal part of high school?  Should students who experience bullying learn to deal?  Do you wish more adults and students would speak up?  Start the discussion by leaving a comment below.

What do you think about the photographer's actions?

Free Movies in Portland Parks

Back To The Future

Back To The Future

Summer is winding down, so we advise that you squeeze that last bit of fun out of it before it’s back to the books.  We love movies, but who can afford to go to the movies these days?  Thankfully, there’s free movies in Portland area parks!  For example, coming up this Wednesday, August 17, they’re screening Back To The Future at Colonel Summers Park in SE Portland.  And on Thursday the 18th they’re screening Toy Story 3 in Woodstock park.

There are other cool movies in the lineup including The Social Network, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and Twilight Eclipse!  Bring a hoodie and some tasty snacks and enjoy the last nights of summer away from algebra and gym class.  Maybe we’ll see you there…

Marketing Blitz

Oh, how we love Summer break!  Portland is finally experiencing sun drenched days, and we hope you are enjoying them as much as we are :-)  Summertime is also our season to send out our yearly marketing packets to update the new ASB leaders of our school dance and photo booth services.

Preparing Packets for 2011-12 school year

We will be emailing activity directors and counselors at your school to ensure the packet is available to you this summer.  We sent them out this past week in order for you to have them at your summer leadership meetings and early fall dance planning sessions.

Enjoy the rest of your summer; we will see you at your Homecoming Dance this fall!
